Claimed	A city or kingdom of immense gold exists somewhere in South America. The ruler of the Muisca covered himself in gold dust and washed it off in a sacred lake. Later expeditions searched for El Dorado in the Amazon and Guianas, associating it with Lake Parime. Some believe El Dorado was a real, advanced civilization in the Amazon, as suggested by Percy Fawcett.
