Summary	On December 9, 1965, a fireball was seen over several US states and Canada, with reports of a crash near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. Witnesses described a bell-shaped or acorn-like object with hieroglyphic markings, and the military allegedly sealed off the area. The incident is often called 'Pennsylvania's Roswell.'

Claimed	A bell-shaped or acorn-shaped craft, about the size of a Volkswagen Beetle, crashed in the woods near Kecksburg. The object had hieroglyphic-like engravings on its exterior. The U.S. Army and state police sealed off the crash site and confiscated the wreckage. The object may have been an extraterrestrial spacecraft or a Nazi time-travel device (Die Glocke). A WHJB radio reporter who covered the incident died in a hit-and-run, and his notes were lost, suggesting a cover-up.
Evidence / consensus	Astronomers and experts concluded the fireball was a meteor bolide. NASA later stated that fragments examined were from a Soviet satellite (Kosmos 96), though records were lost. No credible evidence supports an extraterrestrial craft or military cover-up.
