Summary	The Dover Demon is a cryptid reportedly sighted in Dover, Massachusetts, in April 1977. Witnesses described a small, pale humanoid with glowing orange eyes and long fingers. The sightings have become a notable case in cryptozoology.
Origin	The sightings occurred on April 21-22, 1977, in Dover, Massachusetts, and were reported by three teenagers. The story gained public attention in May 1977.
Claimed	A creature about 4 feet tall with glowing orange eyes and a watermelon-shaped head was seen on Farm Street. Similar sightings occurred on Miller Hill Road and Springdale Avenue the same or following night. The creature had pale, fleshy skin and long fingers. Some proponents suggest a connection to a UFO sighting in nearby Medfield the day before. Similar reports were made in Sherborn five years earlier.
Evidence / consensus	Skeptics and police suggest the sightings were likely misidentifications of a snowy owl, a moose calf, or a hoax. No physical evidence supports the existence of the creature.
