Summary	The Barmanou is a purported bipedal humanoid primate cryptid said to inhabit the mountainous regions of northern Pakistan, particularly Chitral and the Karakoram range. It is considered the Pakistani equivalent of Bigfoot or the Yeti, with folklore describing it as an ape-like wild man that may abduct women. Sightings are reported by local shepherds, but no physical evidence has been found.
Origin	The Barmanou is rooted in the folklore of northern Pakistan, with the term originating in the Khowar language. The first organized search was conducted by Spanish zoologist Jordi Magraner from 1987 to 1990, who later researched it extensively in the 1990s.
