Claimed	Around 12,000 years ago, Earth's crust shifted, moving Antarctica from a temperate location to its current polar position. An advanced civilization (Atlantis) existed in Antarctica before it froze over. The Piri Reis map shows Antarctica without ice, indicating ancient knowledge of the continent.
