Summary	Electronic harassment, also known as electromagnetic torture or psychotronic torture, is a conspiracy theory in which self-identified 'targeted individuals' believe they are being harassed, tormented, or surveilled through the hostile use of electromagnetic devices, such as radio waves or microwaves. These individuals often report hearing voices, physical sensations, and being followed. Mental health professionals generally view these experiences as hallucinations or delusional disorders.
Origin	The concept of electronic harassment and gangstalking emerged in the late 20th century, with a significant online presence in the 2000s. The New York Times estimated over 10,000 self-identified targeted individuals.
Claimed	Malicious actors use electromagnetic radiation, such as the microwave auditory effect, to transmit sounds and thoughts into people's heads. Government agents or crime rings use radar and surveillance techniques to harass individuals. Targeted individuals are subjected to organized stalking, surveillance, and harassment by shadowy adversaries. Experiences include hearing voices, physical burning sensations, and being under constant surveillance.
